Sabrina (The Competition Handbook)
In 2011, after two kids and a long hiatus from meaningful exercise, I found my way back into fitness. First with zumba classes and bootcamps, and then onto the gym floor with weights and machines. In 2013, I decided to try my hand at competing in an NPC bikini competition. I contacted Emily about her Competition Handbook and decided to use that as my guide for preparing for the show. Although it was very thorough and self-explanatory, Emily was available if I had any questions or felt uncertain during the process. I began my prep and training in December 2013 and competed in my first show in March 2014. I placed 3rd in Bikini Novice out of a class of 19 competitors.
This program (Competition Handbook) taught me how my body responds to training, diet and meal prep needs, as well as how to make changes when necessary. I went on to compete in two more shows in 2014, placing 2nd in both. I found a passion for the sport, loving the challenge it provides in preparing for a show, the intensity and dedication needed to train at that level, and prioritizing meal prep and planning. I have used and modified the workouts time and time again over the last year and a half. Through the months of back to back shows, I felt supported and encouraged by Emily. She was quick to respond anytime I contacted her, gave excellent feedback regarding my progress and was equally excited by my wins. I would recommend Emily and her Competition Handbook to anyone considering competing, regardless of age or fitness level, the program is effective and well prepares you for the stage. I competed in a NPC Bodybuilding show last weekend and took First Place in my Bikini Open class, qualifying for nationals. We will see where it goes, but I am grateful for Emily and her competition prep program, it has opened a whole new world for me. Hopefully, we will have an opportunity to meet in person and work together in the future.
