Tell us a little about how you got into the Fitness Industry
My long story short is that I had always been fit & healthy until one day I was diagnosed with a very debilitating thyroid condition that got worse over a period of 6 years & instead of letting it put me down for the count made the decision to fight harder than ever! I not only overcame the disease but I transformed my entire life through clean eating, proper training, and most importantly a positive and never say die attitude. After 12 weeks of training for my first show in July 2009, I lost 29 lbs, placed 4th in Figure and my love and success in competing and the Fitness Industry took off!
What are you doing in Fitness now? What is your area of expertise?
I am a Personal Trainer with a specialization in online training, clean eating, and competition prep. I also am a Fitness Model and continue to compete in Bikini.
What are your personal, professional and health goals for the next year?
This month in particular is very exciting for me. It will be my first competition with The WBFF since deciding to make the switch. I have been working very hard and stayed really focused so I feel great about stepping on stage! This month I will also have my first full body workout video “Perfect 10 Body Pump” and my “Eat Clean to Stay Lean” Program for sale. The more ways that I can share my love and knowledge for living a healthy & balanced lifestyle the better!
What made you decide to compete with THE WBFF?
I have competed for 3 years now. I have had a great time competing with several organizations. I placed top 5 in all my figure shows , won the Overall in the largest bikini show to date, and earned one Pro card in Bikini. I have met amazing people, taken on many competition clients, and had the time of my life. I truly love competing & being on stage with everyone that has dedicated so much! I have done my research and I was very turned on by the performance aspect of the WBFF. The athletes really are displayed in a very classy fashion and each person has their time to shine. There is a very high class Vegas show feel to the WBFF. I feel that I am finally ready to take my competition career to the next level and the WBFF seemed like the perfect fit for me; my trainer Jamo agreed and his opinion is priceless to me so now here I am!
What do you consider your biggest accomplishment?
I am most proud of the fact that I took control of my health and wellness and beat my graves disease, which is a severe thyroid condition – all on my own. I was determined to not let the disease take over my life, and now, against all odds, it’s a thing of the past. I also love helping others find the strength within them to take control of their own health and wellness. I feel invincible now that I have my health back!
What do you do in order to stay on track & keep in such great shape all year long despite a busy lifestyle & running your own business?
I make it a point to make my health my No. 1 priority. If the health of my body is on point, then everything else in my life will follow. I want to live the most productive and success life possible every day. I write out my meal plan & workouts; post them on my fridge and keep one in my purse and gym bag as a reminder. I surround myself with positive people and have a lot of really great supporters such as my boyfriend, clients, and I also have an amazing trainer who I really respect and look up to; Jamo Nezzar. The combo of all of this leaves little room for failure
