Almonds: These are high in vitamin E, folate and magnesium. Magnesium helps relieve stress, and that’s something we all need from time to time! Almonds are also loaded with monounsaturated “healthy” fats that increase your mental alertness. I like to pop 15 raw, unsalted almonds in my mouth as an energizing snack. Soak your almonds over night to help make them easier to digest.
Blueberries: This fruit is not only super high in antioxidants, but blueberries will also not spike your blood sugar. Blueberries are one of the lowest glycemic index carb choices you can make. Remember you need carbs. Choosing the right kind of carb is what counts.
Protein Shakes: I recommend either a high quality Whey or Vegan shake if you are intolerant to dairy products. Click here are the two I love:

There is simply no faster and easier way to get the best balance of protein, carbs, vitamins and minerals to fuel your body. Just add water and you’re done!
Eggs: If fast, easy and cheap aren’t good enough reasons to eat eggs, how about this: rich in protein, yolks are backed with vitamin D and eggs in general are loaded with antioxidants. I prefer cage free organic eggs.
Tilapia: This is usually an inexpensive source of protein and relatively low in mercury, in comparison to many other fish options.
Apples: A low-calorie snack packed with pectin, which is a great appetite suppressant. The peel contains ursolic acid, which assists in muscle growth as well as helping the body steer clear of muscle atrophy.
